I think a ghost washed his hands in my cup of tea!

i think a ghost washed it's hand's in my cup of tea30″ x 40″, Acrylic on canvas, 2001

The title for this painting came from a story my Father told me one time, He said when he was a boy the old people would say, “I think a ghost washed it`s hands in my cup of tea.” He explained and told me that was how they expressed themselves when there tea got cold. I thought it was cool and poetic the way they spoke a long time ago. So I decided to turn this saying into a painting but in my painting I treated the saying more as ghost story than a verbal expression. – Riel Benn (click on image to view larger version)
